Carmar Consultants (“Carmar”) was formed in 2017, intending to provide police forces with specialist police driver training subject to a needs assessment. By 2021, Carmar was regularly supporting training departments helping them meet training demand across the roads policing and criminal justice syllabuses set by the College of Policing.

The unique feature of Carmar was that every police trainer and instructor had served with a Home Office Police Force delivering the licensed product on which we now support internal training departments. We were a specialist police training provider meaning our staff were exclusively available to the police, allowing us to meet short and long term training delivery targets without abstractions impacting service delivery.

Carmar supplied qualified police trainers to UK police forces, compliant with the College of Policing licencing framework. Where a Home Office force is a licensee and licensed to deliver specified products, Carmar provided the suitably qualified trainers to support police forces meet their training demand on licence extension. No longer were  forces required to wait for specialist training.

In 2022, Carmar increased its criminal investigation and criminal justice training services.  In 2023, Carmar staff were academically qualified and registerred as expert witnesses in policing matters.  This achievement recognised the vast and immeasurable experience of our practitioners.  

Raising the Bar | beyond 2023

In 2023, Carmar began to offer private client services to private businesses and clients as part of its expansion.   By bringing to the private sector, the skills of public sector techniques and tactics  our portfolio increased.  The largest area of growth was in the provision of visually recorded interviews (VRI) for vulnerable adults and children on behalf of the Local Authorities engaged in Family Law or care proceedings.

Our collobration with legal firms across the UK and worldwide is further indication of growth as we provide a variety of training products as part of business defence and regulatory compliance.  This has included delivering University lectures and working with regulators who seek to adopt regulatory frameworks within compliance roles.  Our workplace investigations and independent dispute management services have grown as our clients seek transparency in service delivery.
